The Prospective students micro-site is a resource for potential students of Birkbeck to find our more about the institution and its courses. The site was originally created in 2007. In 2009 the site’s home page was refreshed to incorporate new elements.
I worked with the site’s designer to refine the design for increased usability and improved aesthetics. Some of the design changes included embedding a playable video on the home page and creating a “mega drop-down” of useful links.

Process
- Worked alongside graphic designer to create a new design
- Liaised with designer and other stakeholders to clearly establish the goals of the redesign
- Simplified original design to enhance its usability
- Incorporated UI design patterns
- Created high-fidelity prototypes with Photoshop and XHTML
- Implemented design in the Plone CMS.
