Weave: visualising browser data

In September 2009 I took part in the Mozilla Labs design challenge which sought to find solutions to the issue of visualising browser data accumulated across a number of devices.

As part of this I drew up a number of wireframes showing an in-browser model for managing stored data, such as bookmarks, browsing history and tabs.

The model I adopted was based on existing in-browser asset management systems, such as Flickr. In the judging for the challenge I was commended on:

“We liked the fact that the design built on best practices both from the suggested reading as well as practical implementations such as
flickr.”

“We also liked that it was comprehensive in covering all the data
types that the add-on currently synchronizes.”
